If you would like to see my teaching style, check this free clip (Jockey to the Fair, a Set Dance) for those who made a donation, many thanks. I would pitch this dance as level 2, I have taught it to complete beginners – but not in 5 weeks! I published it partly for my class as our term was cut short, partly to give me and hopefully others something to do at the start of lock-down.

What is Step Dancing?
Step dancing is a percussive form of dance, danced alone, with footwork close to the floor. It is danced by people of all ages - I know step dancers who are over 80. Old Style Step dancing is the precursor to competitive Irish dancing and Riverdance.
What to wear?
Beginner dancers are advised to wear some hard soled shoes, sneakers are not advisable, nor shoes with a wedge heel.
Research ....
Research has proven that dancing is one of the best forms of activity for keeping the body active and the mind alert.
