A little recent background ...
How crazy has life become for us all ... and I guess all I can say is ... keep positive, keep your distance, keep dancing and hopefully we will all get through this!
As many of you will know I work (or rather worked) as a self employed teacher of music & dance, and went from a very full diary to hardly any work lined up at all.
To keep myself sane I am looking at other ways to do things, and recently recorded this free dance class, currently on YouTube, the class is 34 minutes long. Feel free to forward it to others, I have asked if people find it of use to consider offering me a donation. I hope to upload other dances, and some battering for set dancing, if you have a request just drop me a line.
The text below also appears within the YouTube clip.
To help promote what I do, could I also ask you to subscribe to my YouTube page (tiz free), and other social media pages.

Annette’s first online class! “Jockey to the Fair”
I hope you enjoy this free step dance class, while this is a free class, donations are welcome - see further detail below, like many self-employed artists, I am now unemployed due to Corvid-19.
This is a good beginner dance, and I have taught it to people with absolutely no prior knowledge of step dancing. If you are a beginner dancer please don’t expect too much too soon, it would take me most of a term to teach the full dance at a complete beginner level.
If you would like some notes on this dance, I can send them to you, just drop me a line here, do check your spam folder for a reply.
The dance is in 2 main parts (step and set), the first part is 16 bars long, a step of 8 bars is danced with the right foot leading, these 8 bars are repeated with the left foot leading; the second part of the dance is 28 bars long, and is made up of a 14 bar sequence repeated. The 14 bars include 6 bars of new material followed by a repeat of the 8 bar step. This 14 bar sequence is then repeated with the left foot leading – let me know if you would like a map! At the beginner level, you could dance the step (right and left leading) and just one set (ie, just the right foot leading).
If you have any questions, I am always happy to talk about dance.
A little about me, prior to Corvid-19, I was a self-employed teacher of music - whistle & piano - and dance - solo step dancing, set dancing, and other dance sessions for adults with learning difficulties, as well as a set dancing class with a Parkinson’s group; teaching workshops on the weekend, running the occasional beginner ceili and teaching into the festivals ... suddenly my diary is empty ... but I am looking ahead positively and having a rethink about the future. In order to make a living, it seems my life will have to go online!
All the best for now, cheers - stay safe and keep dancing!
